When I think about Chuck and I growing up together, a specific story always comes to mind. We were walking down a dirt road near our house and he was walking in front of me. He bent down and picked up a hunk of concrete with gravel sticking out of it about the size of a silver dollar. And for some reason that I'll never understand he decided to turn around and throw it at me. (Yes, he grew up to be a Pastor, but to me he was still a little brother.)
That thing hit me dead between the eyes.
Obviously it hurt and ended up leaving a big knot on my face. But instead of apologizing or freaking out or whatever, Chuck's response was to throw both arms up in the air like a champ and yell, "David and Goliath! Yeah!" Then he turned and took off running.
I decided to name this organization David Beat Goliath because it makes me think of Chuck and his dedication to serving and supporting those who go around the world to minister to others.
Sometime you're the "David". You're the one taking that step out against the giant. But sometimes you're not. And when you can't be the David, be the stone. One small gesture can have a giant impact.
Love God. Love Others and Serve.
Serving and supporting others was one of Pastor Chuck's greatest passions. He was known well in his community as one who could always be counted on to serve. He had a heart for missions and supporting the people and organizations who served our country and the world. We want to continue to carry on Chuck's legacy of giving and supporting these great causes.
Here is a list of some of the organizations and missionaries that Chuck loved and supported. If you would like to support one of them use the links below or donate to "missions" at Northside Assembly of God in Bonifay. Some names and locations cannot be displayed for their personal safety.
